Pay: what Walmart says, and what the postings say
Walmart publishes two sets of numbers. Its "How much do Walmart associates make?" page lists an hourly range of $17.85 to $40.40 for distribution and fulfillment centers and says supply chain associates make $27.50 an hour on average (corporate.walmart.com, viewed October 21, 2026). Walmart's Supply Chain Fast Facts sheet, updated August 17, 2023, listed a starting range of $16 to $34 for fulfillment and distribution center associates and an average of $25.50 for U.S. hourly supply chain associates.
Store pay is different. The same Walmart page lists store team associates at $14 to $37 an hour.

Walmart's posting language: "The hourly wage range for this position is" the figure shown, and "premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances," based on schedule, facility, season or work performed. "Multiple premiums may apply" (Lithia Springs posting R-1797185 and Tampa posting R-1251534, viewed October 21, 2026).
For comparison, the May 2025 median for hand laborers and material movers was $18.52 an hour in Dallas-Fort Worth, $18.76 in Atlanta and $20.38 in Los Angeles. Roles inside a Walmart DC or FC
- Freight handler. Inspect freight for damage, clear conveyor jams, pull store orders with pick-to-light, put-to-light, RF guns or voice pick, label freight and fill containers (Lithia Springs posting).
- Lift driver. Move and replenish pallets on racks and docks with power equipment and do basic equipment care. A Sam's Club lift driver posting in New Braunfels, TX lists $19.80 to $23.30 an hour and no minimum qualifications (R-2664129, viewed October 21, 2026). - Material handler. Similar work in Walmart's print and dairy plants, with their own pay ranges (see the table).
- Skilled trades. A "Licensed Electrician (All DCs)" posting in Hermiston, OR listed $38.10 to $41.60 an hour (careers.walmart.com, viewed October 21, 2026).
DC versus FC: Walmart's distribution facilities move merchandise to its stores and clubs, and its eCommerce fulfillment centers ship online orders to customers (Walmart Form 10-K, fiscal year ended January 31, 2026). In postings, fulfillment centers appear as "eComm Whse Logistics." Both hire through careers.walmart.com.
Shifts: four 10s, three 12s, and overnights
Walmart postings print a schedule grid. From the Lithia Springs and Tampa postings (viewed October 21, 2026):
- Weekday Day: 5:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Thursday (Lithia Springs); 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Tuesday to Friday (Tampa). Four 10-hour days.
- Weekday Evening/Overnight: 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM, Monday to Thursday (Lithia Springs); 5:30 PM to 3:30 AM, Monday to Thursday (Tampa). Four 10-hour nights.
- Weekend Day: 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday to Sunday (Lithia Springs); 5:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Saturday to Monday (Tampa). Three 12-hour days.
Postings add that "various schedules may be available" and that details are discussed during the interview. Walmart's pay page says associates can see schedules up to two weeks ahead in the MyWalmart app and pick up or trade shifts (viewed October 21, 2026). The hiring process, as Walmart describes it
From Walmart's "How we hire" page (viewed October 21, 2026):
- Apply online. A resume is not required, but you list your job history. The first application takes 20 to 25 minutes on average. Some positions "require the completion of assessments" before you are considered. You can save a draft for hourly roles, but you cannot change an application after you submit it.
- Confirmation screen, then review. Walmart says it tries "to respond to applicants within a week of submission," and that you will be told if you are not selected for an interview.
- Interview if selected. Walmart does not describe the format on this page.
- Your hourly application stays active for 60 days. You can update your preferences to add other positions during that time.
- Offer and paperwork. Walmart participates in E-Verify (careers site footer). The Lithia Springs posting states a drug-free workplace policy with "no tolerance" for illegal drugs and alcohol on the job.

Benefits that matter for hourly warehouse staff
From Walmart's pay page and the Lithia Springs posting (viewed October 21, 2026):
- 401(k) from day one, with a company match of up to 6% for full-time and part-time hourly associates credited with 1,000 hours in their first year.
- Associate Stock Purchase Plan: a 15% match on the first $1,800 you contribute each year.
- Medical: Walmart lists 2025 coverage starting at $36.10 per pay period for eligible U.S. associates.
- Paid time off that full-time and part-time frontline hourly associates begin earning on day one. The posting also lists parental leave, family care leave and bereavement leave.
- Live Better U: Walmart covers 100% of tuition and books for programs from high school diplomas to degrees. The posting says the program is for full-time and part-time associates.
- Associate to Driver program: store and supply chain associates can move into Walmart Private Fleet driver roles. In its August 17, 2023 fact sheet, Walmart listed truck driver starting pay at $90,000 to $110,000 a year. Browse current driver jobs.
