Jobs can fill fast. Handler jobs at 10155 Monroe Drive, Dallas, and 2320 East Bardin Road, Arlington, TX, posted October 31, read "has been filled" later that same day. So did a driver helper job in Coppell, TX (UPS, read October 31, 2026). If your nearest site closes, check the next one and set a job alert.
The age rules come from UPS's role pages, not the postings (UPS FAQs, read October 31, 2026). UPS's pay answer: "Find an open job posting near you to see the exact hourly wage" (UPS events page, read October 31, 2026).
What it pays per week

| Role and rate | Hours a week | Gross | Take-home |
|---|---|---|---|
| Handler or helper, $21.00 | 15 | $315.00 | $290.36 |
| Handler or helper, $21.00 | 20 | $420.00 | $376.83 |
| Handler or helper, $21.00 | 25 | $525.00 | $463.30 |
| Handler or helper, $21.00 | 30 | $630.00 | $548.13 |
| Delivery driver, $23.00 | 40 | $920.00 | $781.14 |
| Delivery driver, $23.00, with 10 overtime hours | 50 | $1,265.00 | $1,058.35 |
Take-home here is gross minus 7.65% for Social Security and Medicare (IRS Topic 751, updated September 24, 2026) and federal withholding for a single filer with a standard W-4, paid weekly (IRS Publication 15-T, 2026). State tax is not included; Texas has none. Overtime is time and a half over 40 hours (U.S. DOL, read October 31, 2026). What each line means: your first paycheck explained.
UPS postings state weekly pay. Compare other employers in jobs with weekly pay.
Support driver example. The Dallas posting pays $23.00 an hour plus $0.76 a mile (read October 31, 2026). Say you work 20 hours and drive 30 miles a day, five days a week, for five weeks. Wages come to $2,300. Mileage comes to $570, which has to cover your gas and car wear. These are example hours, not an offer.
Costs to plan for. UPS rules out sneakers, running shoes, loafers and sandals for warehouse work, and asks driver helpers for black or brown polishable shoes (UPS FAQs, read October 31, 2026). Budget for boots before your first shift.
Hours: what UPS promises and what it does not
- No weekly hours are promised. The postings we read state none. Support driver and helper postings say work is offered each morning based on need, and "schedules vary from day to day."
- Shifts vary by building. UPS lists approximate warehouse shifts: preload 3:00 to 9:00 AM, sunrise 3:00 to 8:00 AM, day 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, twilight 5:00 to 10:00 PM, night 11:00 PM to 3:00 AM (UPS, read October 31, 2026).
- The 3.5-hour guarantee may not cover you. The Teamsters contract guarantees part-time employees at least 3.5 hours a day; see UPS vs FedEx package handler. UPS's seasonal postings promise no daily minimum, and we could not confirm that the guarantee covers temporary hires. Ask your supervisor on day one.
- Support driver work is short. The Teamsters said in 2023 that seasonal work "will be contained to five weeks only from November-December," and that UPS part-timers get priority for own-vehicle work (Teamsters, August 22, 2023). Plan on five weeks.
- End dates are not on the postings we read. UPS says seasonal roles have "a set end date" and that the season is "typically from October to December" (UPS, read October 31, 2026). Ask for your date before you accept.
UPS is a bad fit if you need set hours each week, have no reliable way to reach a 3 AM shift, or cannot lift 70 pounds. Do not say you can lift it if you cannot. UPS has a disability accommodation request process at jobs-ups.com/us/en/faq-accomodations. If it will not work, look at a store or other warehouse job.
2026 job fairs
You do not need a fair to get hired. UPS says all applications are submitted online (UPS events page, read October 31, 2026).
- Annual Job Fair: November 6 and 7, 2026. UPS describes this as a virtual, nationwide event for questions. There is no interviewing or hiring during it, and attending does not lead to an offer.
- Local fairs. UPS's events list showed 107 events on October 31, 2026, including in-person fairs in Chicago, Louisville, St. Louis, Honolulu and Des Moines on dates through at least November 14. UPS says a local fair may include an offer on the spot (UPS annual job fair page, read October 31, 2026).
- Texas. The events list had no Texas location on October 31, 2026. Dallas applicants should apply online; see seasonal jobs in Dallas.
How to apply
- Go to jobs-ups.com and search your city or ZIP code. Results change daily.
- Give basic information and watch a short video of the job.
- Finish the application. UPS says many applicants get an offer in less than 7 minutes (UPS, October 7, 2026), and that you could schedule your first day within 10 minutes (postings, read October 31, 2026). Many seasonal roles need no interview.
- Submit proof of identity and work eligibility online before your first day. Bring originals; UPS will not accept copies. You show one List A document, or one each from List B and List C. See documents you need to start a job.
- Show up on time with water. UPS says you could start the week after you apply, once onboarding is done.
Drivers add a road test, DOT physical, online pre-course and in-person training, so apply early (UPS, read October 31, 2026).
Stuck? UPS lists 1-833-480-0064 for application trouble and 1-833-832-0179 for I-9 or W-4 trouble. If you worked at UPS before, email AEHelp@ups.com about rehire status (UPS, read October 31, 2026).
After peak: can you stay?
Maybe. Every posting we read says "continued employment is not guaranteed beyond the seasonal period." UPS says "some seasonal workers are invited to join the team full time each year" (read October 31, 2026). Its latest number we could confirm is old: nearly 35,000 seasonal employees earned permanent positions after the 2021 holidays (UPS, September 7, 2022). UPS also reports it cut about 48,000 operational positions and closed daily operations at 93 buildings during 2025 (UPS, January 27, 2026). Do not count on staying. Read can a seasonal job become permanent.
