Who is hiring, with pay from postings

We read each posting on the employer's site on October 31, 2026. Any of them may have closed since, so search the employer's careers site. There is no verified total of seasonal openings in the metro, so treat this as a sample, not a full list.

Scroll horizontally to view every column.

Employer and role Where Pay shown Type
UPS airport package handler 1683 West 19th Street, Dallas (posted October 28) $21.00 Part-time, temporary; fingerprint appointment first
UPS support driver, your own vehicle 10155 Monroe Drive, Dallas (posted October 22) $23.00 plus $0.76 a mile Part-time, temporary
UPS delivery driver 4300 Samuell Boulevard, Mesquite (posted October 30) $23.00 Full-time, temporary
Amazon robotics associate Coppell Up to $20.65 Full-time, seasonal
Amazon equipment operator Coppell Up to $19.50 to $20.10, by listing Full-time, seasonal
Amazon delivery station associate Lewisville up to $20.50; McKinney and Mansfield up to $20.00 As shown Seasonal; hours type varies
FedEx seasonal package handler 3215 Spur 482, Irving $18.25 Part-time; early morning and midday
Target seasonal store roles 655 W Illinois Ave, Dallas $16.00 start Part-time
Walmart Seasonal Team Associate Supercenters in Dallas ZIP codes 75243, 75248 and 75249 $14.50 to $27.50 Multiple shifts

These jobs can fill within hours. UPS handler jobs at 10155 Monroe Drive, Dallas, 2320 East Bardin Road, Arlington, and 1300 East Northside Drive, Fort Worth, all posted October 31, read "has been filled" later that same day. So did a driver helper job in Coppell (UPS, read October 31, 2026). Amazon's shifts and "up to" rates also changed during the day. Apply to the nearest open site.

Plan on the low end of any range. Walmart's top number is not a seasonal starting rate we could confirm.

Two common searches come up short in Dallas right now. USPS's 2026 Texas Holiday Clerk Assistant releases (October 9 and October 30) list other cities and no DFW location. Macy's lists Houston, not Dallas, as a market with greater Macy's hiring. It names Dallas only for Bluemercury (Macy's, September 24, 2026).

More on the two biggest employers: UPS seasonal jobs and Amazon seasonal jobs. For other cities: the seasonal jobs hub.

How those rates compare

These are metro wage estimates for all experience levels, not starting pay (BLS Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2025, Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington).

Scroll horizontally to view every column.

Occupation Jobs in metro 10th percentile Median 90th percentile
Laborers and freight, stock and material movers, hand 81,940 $14.62 $18.52 $26.12
Stockers and order fillers 111,100 $14.53 $18.07 $23.29
Industrial truck and tractor operators 34,650 $17.56 $22.71 $28.86
Light truck drivers 25,890 $14.17 $21.18 $40.02
Retail salespersons 100,340 $11.57 $16.06 $22.05
Cashiers 65,070 $11.03 $14.38 $17.67

What this tells you: UPS's $21.00 handler rate is above the $18.52 median for hand laborers, and FedEx's $18.25 is just below it. Target's $16.00 start is close to the $16.06 retail median.

What you take home in Texas

Scroll horizontally to view every column.

Job and rate Hours a week Gross Take-home
Target, $16.00 20 $320.00 $294.48
FedEx, $18.25 20 $365.00 $331.54
UPS handler, $21.00 25 $525.00 $463.30
Amazon, $20.10 40 $804.00 $687.93
UPS driver, $23.00 40 $920.00 $781.14

Take-home is gross minus 7.65% for Social Security and Medicare (IRS Topic 751, updated September 24, 2026) and federal withholding for a single filer with a standard W-4, paid weekly (IRS Publication 15-T, 2026). These are example hours, not offers. FedEx part-timers generally work 3 to 6 hours a day (Irving posting). UPS gives no weekly hours. Amazon's "up to" rate may not apply to every shift. More: your first paycheck explained.

UPS, Amazon and FedEx state weekly pay. Most Target workers are paid every two weeks. Compare: jobs with weekly pay.

Texas pay rules

This is information, not legal advice. The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) handles wage claims at 800-832-9243.

  • Minimum wage: $7.25. Texas uses the federal rate (U.S. DOL, updated July 1, 2026). See minimum wage by state.
  • Payday: at least twice a month for hourly workers who are not exempt from overtime (TWC, read October 31, 2026; U.S. DOL, revised January 1, 2023). See pay frequency laws.
  • Overtime: time and a half over 40 hours a week under federal law (U.S. DOL, read October 31, 2026). Federal law does not require extra pay for holidays (U.S. DOL, read October 31, 2026), so check your offer.
  • Final pay: within 6 calendar days if you are let go, or by the next regular payday if you quit (TWC, read October 31, 2026). That matters when a seasonal job ends.
  • Unpaid wages: file a wage claim with TWC within 180 days of when the pay was due (TWC, read October 31, 2026).
  • Income tax: Texas has none on wages (Texas Comptroller, December 2025).
  • Unemployment: TWC pays eligible workers who lost a job through no fault of their own and who meet past-earnings rules. Apply through its Unemployment Benefit Services site, or call 800-939-6631 (TWC, read October 31, 2026).

Hiring events

UPS's events list had no Texas location on October 31, 2026, so apply to UPS online.

Target store events. Target lists these DFW dates at its stores (Target, read October 31, 2026). It lists no hours, so call the store before you go.

Scroll horizontally to view every column.

Target store Dates
Allen November 1 and 8
Allen North November 6 and 11
Flower Mound November 1, 6 to 8, 13 to 15, and 20 to 22
Frisco November 8
McKinney SW November 7
Prosper November 7 and 14
Weatherford November 1
Wylie November 1

Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury: Thursday, November 19. You can apply in person at any of their stores. Times vary by location. The release promises on-the-spot offers only for the September 24 event, so do not assume you will leave with an offer (Macy's, September 24, 2026).

Dallas Career Fair: Thursday, December 3, 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. DoubleTree Farmers Branch, 11611 Luna Road, Farmers Branch, TX 75234 (Diversity Career Group, read October 31, 2026). It is free for candidates. The organizer asks for at least 12 resumes and professional dress, and the format is sit-down interviews. Our read: it suits retail, customer service and office work better than warehouse jobs. A seasonal job found on December 3 would leave about three weeks of work. All listings: job fairs in Dallas. How to prepare: how to get hired at a job fair.

What to do this week in Dallas

  • If you have a car, are 21 or older and have no experience: apply for the UPS support driver job, then Amazon. Know that work is offered each morning, and the union says this work is limited to five weeks (Teamsters, August 22, 2023).
  • If you have no car: check that you can reach the address at your shift's real start time before you accept. UPS's FAQ says how you get to work is up to you (UPS, read October 31, 2026). Early shifts can start around 3 AM.
  • If you cannot lift heavy loads: go to a Target event or apply to store jobs. Say what you can do honestly, and ask about an accommodation if you need one.
  • If you need the most hours: apply for Amazon full-time seasonal or the UPS driver job. The UPS driver job needs age 21 or older, a DOT physical and a driving test.

How to verify a listing

Every opening on JobPin links to its source posting. Open it, check the address and the word "seasonal" or "temporary," and confirm pay on the employer's own site. Apply only there. Honest employers never ask you to pay to get a job (FTC, March 2023). Confirm event times and locations with the store or organizer on the day you go.
