How to read this calendar
Each row shows the most recent year we could confirm from the employer, a government page, or news coverage of the employer's own announcement. Employers repeat their timing more often than their headcounts, so use the month to set a reminder, then check the employer's site that week.

Three rules of seasonal timing
- Announcements come weeks before the season. Spirit announced on June 11, 2026, ahead of Halloween. UPS announced in early October for the late-year peak. Six Flags held its National Hiring Week in February for spring openings. Set your reminder for the announcement month.
- Events can mean fast answers. Macy's offered on-the-spot interviews and job offers at its September 24, 2026 events (Macy's, September 24, 2026), and Dick's held on-site interviews on October 21, 2026 (Dick's, October 15, 2026). Apply online first.
- Postings are shifting to part-time. At the end of September 2026, 49% of large seasonal employers' postings were part-time and about 20% were labeled seasonal (Indeed Hiring Lab, October 15, 2026). Search for both.
Pay and age across the seasons
- Pay depends on the state floor and the employer. USPS posted $21.89 an hour for holiday clerk assistants in South Carolina (USPS, September 14, 2026), while Green Bay paid lifeguards $17.69 to start (City of Green Bay, 2026). Fifteen states raise their minimum wage on January 1, 2027; see minimum wage by state.
- Age varies by employer. Six Flags hires at 16 at every park and at 14 or 15 at some (jobs.sixflags.com). Lowe's says most hourly store jobs require 18, though it can vary (Lowe's careers FAQ). Employer-by-employer ages: jobs that hire at 16.
Chaining seasons into a year of work
Some workers move from spring home improvement to summer parks, fall Halloween, holiday warehouse work and winter tax or returns jobs. Apply for the next season while you still work the current one; the table shows when. Ask about staying on: Michaels says nearly 50% of its 2025 seasonal in-store positions became regular roles (Michaels, September 10, 2026). More: how seasonal jobs become permanent.
