Warehouse Resume: Two Complete Samples, the Words Real Postings Use, and How to List a Forklift Card Truthfully

Check first: Amazon and Walmart warehouse jobs need no resume. Where one is asked for, keep it to one honest page and use the posting's exact words, but only if they are true. Forklift certification comes from your employer, not OSHA. Last reviewed October 31, 2026.

First: do you need one?

Often not. Amazon says most hourly jobs "do not require a resume," including warehouse jobs. Walmart says "A resume or CV is not required," though you list your job history on the form (both read October 31, 2026). UPS describes "basic information" and an online application, with no resume in its steps. Warehouses with a recruiter, and job fairs, may still ask. Write out your dates anyway, since forms ask for them. More: Amazon's hiring process and Walmart distribution center jobs.

No job history at all? Resume with no experience has full layouts and what to list instead of jobs. This page adds the warehouse words and the forklift rules.

The words real postings use

CareerOneStop says to find the posting's keywords and "use those exact terms," because a variation "may be missed" by tracking software (read October 31, 2026). So copy the words from the posting you are applying to, and only if each one is true of you. These came from postings read October 31, 2026.

Scroll horizontally to view every column.

Words in the posting Where Use them if
"sorting, scanning, and stacking," "Sort packages from conveyor belts" Amazon, Wilmer, TX (read October 31, 2026, since closed) You did that work, or close to it. Say "sorted," not "conveyor operator"
"scanners, computers, and handheld printer" Amazon, Wilmer, TX (read October 31, 2026, since closed) You used a scanner at any job, even a store
"RF gun or voice pick system," "inspecting freight for damage" Sam's Club, Lithia Springs, GA You have used that exact tool. Never list a tool you have only read about
"lift, lower, and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs" UPS, Chantilly, VA You can repeat it. Say what you really lifted
"stand-up, sit-down, or clamp forklifts and electric pallet jacks" DHL, Inwood, WV You were trained on that truck. List each one by name
"check the load count, stability, and product damage," "daily inspection of equipment" DHL, Inwood, WV You did these on the job
"Conduct training for new associates," "accurate records or logs" DHL lead, Newville, PA You were asked to. Say who asked
"safety, production and attendance," "Working knowledge of Microsoft Office" UPS supervisor, Alexandria, VA You tracked those, or have used the software
"a commercial WMS (warehouse management system)" DHL tasker, Lancaster, PA You used one. Name it if you can

How much weight do the words carry? No government source counts how many warehouses use tracking software, or how long a recruiter reads. So this page makes no claim about seconds. A clear, true page is the goal.

Sample 1: no warehouse job yet

This is an invented sample: made-up name, places and numbers. Copy the layout, and replace every fact with your own true one.

TAYLOR SAMPLE

Anytown, OH | (555) 555-0131 | taylor.sample@example.test

OBJECTIVE

Seeking an entry-level package handler or warehouse associate job. Available Monday to Friday, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Saturdays. Can start November 16.

EXPERIENCE

Crew member, Sample Burger, Anytown, OH. March 2025 to present

  • Unload the weekly food delivery with a hand truck, and put stock away by date.
  • Stand for 6-hour shifts and keep up with lunch rush orders.
  • Follow written food safety and cleaning checklists.

Helper (paid side work), neighbors and family, Anytown, OH. 2024 to present

  • Load and unload boxes and furniture on a two-person team, about 10 moves so far.
  • Carry boxes up to about 50 pounds, and use straps and a dolly for heavier items.

EDUCATION

Anytown High School, Anytown, OH. Diploma, 2024.

SKILLS

Hand truck | Stock rotation | Team lifting | Conversational Spanish

Why it works: it shows availability, and physical work in plain words. It claims no warehouse title, no scanner and no forklift. Never used a dolly? Leave it off. Not sure of your weight? Leave the number off and answer it truthfully in the interview.

Sample 2: moving up to forklift or lead

Also invented. Each line assumes the person really did it.

RILEY EXAMPLE

Anytown, GA | (555) 555-0186 | riley.example@example.test

OBJECTIVE

Warehouse associate seeking a forklift operator or lead job on first or second shift.

EXPERIENCE

Warehouse associate, Sample Logistics, Anytown, GA. June 2024 to present

  • Pick, pack and load outbound orders using an RF scanner and a warehouse management system.
  • Move pallets with an electric pallet jack and a stand-up reach truck after employer training.
  • Check load count and product damage, and report variances to the lead.
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and help with physical inventories.
  • Asked by the lead to show new associates the pick process during their first week, since March 2026.

Package handler (seasonal), Example Parcel, Anytown, GA. October 2023 to January 2024

  • Loaded and unloaded trailers. Lifted packages up to 70 pounds.

TRAINING

Powered industrial trucks: electric pallet jack and stand-up reach truck. Trained and evaluated by Sample Logistics, May 2025.

EDUCATION

GED, State of Georgia, 2022.

SKILLS

RF scanner | Reach truck | Cycle counts | Microsoft Excel

Why it works: it uses DHL's and UPS's words where true, and it says who trained and evaluated. It says "asked by the lead" rather than "supervised," because it does not claim a title.

Be honest about the move. A lead title does not always pay more. DHL's Newville, PA, lead posting pays $19.45 plus a $0.50 premium, and its Inwood, WV, forklift posting pays $21.10. That is $46.00 less a week at 40 hours, though these are different sites. The lead posting wants 6 to 12 months each of warehouse and forklift experience. UPS's Alexandria, VA, supervisor posting pays $26.25 to $42.65 across markets and prefers a bachelor's degree. National medians are $22.32 for forklift operators and $30.23 for material moving supervisors (BLS, May 2025). No source shows the odds of moving up. For your metro: pay benchmarks.

How to list a forklift card truthfully

OSHA says operators "must be trained and certified by their organizations" (OSHA eTool, read October 31, 2026). The employer records your name, the training date, the evaluation date and who did it (29 CFR 1910.178(l)(6)). So the rule describes a certification by your employer, not a card from OSHA.

Scroll horizontally to view every column.

Your situation Write Do not write
An employer trained and evaluated you "Forklift: stand-up reach truck. Trained and evaluated by (employer), (month and year)." "OSHA certified" or "OSHA license"
You took an online course only "Completed online forklift classroom course, (provider), (date). No hands-on evaluation yet." "Forklift certified"
You took a college class with a skills test "Forklift class, (school), (date), with hands-on test on a sit-down forklift." "Certified on all forklifts"
You used a hand-pulled pallet jack "Manual pallet jack" "Forklift experience" or "power equipment"
Your last evaluation was more than three years ago The real date: "Last evaluated (month and year)." "Current"
You never drove one Nothing. Leave it off Anything else

Why this matters:

  • A new employer checks anyway. It must make sure you are competent on its truck and in its building, though it can skip training you already had if it fits and you were found competent (29 CFR 1910.178(l)(5)).
  • Evaluations recur. At least once every three years (29 CFR 1910.178(l)(4)(iii)).
  • Postings differ. DHL Inwood wants a "forklift operator certificate or satisfactory completion of a forklift-training program within the first 30 days," and six months on a forklift. PeopleReady in Spartanburg, SC, says "some assignments may require" a "forklift license" (posted October 20, 2026). Amazon's Dallas posting says it provides "all PIT training and certification for free."

Before you pay for any class, read forklift certification. Keep a photo of your training record, with its dates.

Before you send it

  • Keep it plain. CareerOneStop warns that tracking software may reject unusual fonts or formatting (read October 31, 2026). Build it free with the resume template.
  • Tell the truth. CareerOneStop says false information can disqualify you (read October 31, 2026). Also, a warehouse can test what you claim on your first day, with you on the truck.
  • Match your answers. Whatever you list, expect a question on it: warehouse interview questions. Not sure of the job? Read the warehouse jobs guide.

FAQ

Do I need a resume for a warehouse job?

Often not. Amazon and Walmart say none is required for their warehouse jobs (read October 31, 2026). You still enter your job history on a form. Others may ask, so keep one ready.

What do I put on a warehouse resume with no warehouse job?

Any physical, timed or safety-minded work, with real dates: restaurant, store, moving help, or a team you were on. See Sample 1, and resume with no experience.

Which keywords matter most?

The ones in the posting you are applying to. CareerOneStop says to use the exact terms (read October 31, 2026). "RF gun" and "voice pick" appeared at Sam's Club, and "scanners" at Amazon, in postings read October 31, 2026. Use only those that are true.

Can I say I am OSHA certified on forklifts?

No. OSHA's rule has your employer certify you after training and an evaluation (29 CFR 1910.178(l)). Write who trained and evaluated you, and when.

Does an online forklift card count?

Only as classroom work. The rule also requires hands-on practice and an evaluation in the workplace (29 CFR 1910.178(l)(2)(ii)). Say what you did, and no more.

How long should it be?

One page is enough for most hourly work. JobPin's resume tips say so, and CareerOneStop says one to two pages (read October 31, 2026).

How do I move up to lead?

Show that you were trusted with people and records, in true words. DHL's lead posting asks for training new associates, accurate logs, and 6 to 12 months of warehouse and forklift experience. No source shows the odds.
